John Stamos uses method acting in his new role as Zeam’s Chief Innovation Officer
A new mockumentary sees the Full House star shadowing Zeam’s CEO to understand the ins and outs of his new role.
Zeam, a new streaming service for local TV broadcasters, has appointed the actor, musician, producer and best-selling author, John Stamos, as its chief innovation officer (CIO).
In his new role, Stamos, who began his relationship with Zeam as the star of its Super Bowl LVIII campaign in February, will now advise the streaming service on content partnerships and acting as its brand ambassador.
To celebrate this milestone, Zeam released an eight-minute mockumentary on YouTube starring Stamos titled ‘Going Full Jack.’ Produced by Soapbox Films and directed by Christopher Alender, the mockumentary follows Stamos as he utilizes method acting to embody the role of Zeam CEO, Jack Perry, while preparing for an upcoming Zeam commercial.
“Throughout my career, I’ve done hundreds of commercials, but Zeam truly captivated me with its innovation and simplicity,” Stamos said in a statement shared with The Drum. “What intrigued me most was their groundbreaking approach to delivering local content to viewers from all over the country. Genius ... I'm honored to be a part of Zeam’s growth and to help bring it to the forefront.”
Formerly known as Syncbak, Zeam Media rebranded after transitioning from a tech company to a media and advertising company, in an effort to enhance its media presence and expand its reach. Today, the new streaming service offers news, sports, events and cultural programming. It features content from over 300 local broadcast stations, including CBS, NBC, ABC and FOX.
Jack Perry, Zeam’s founder and CEO, also expressed excitement about Stamos joining the team: “It’s a moment etched in my memory forever: during the filming of our Super Bowl spot, as John effortlessly delivered the tagline, ‘Always local, always free,’ I witnessed his immediate grasp of Zeam’s essence ... Later, as he emerged unscathed from a flaming pool, John and I engaged in a conversation that marked the beginning of our journey to transform Zeam not only into the premier destination for streaming local content, but as the perfect compliment to binge viewing.”
Later this summer, Zeam will unveil its New York City studio in the heart of Times Square, live streaming shows and video podcasts to its broad local audience.
