A black-and-white short film captures the timeless American spirit through the songwriter’s gentle rendition of the Woody Guthrie classic.

Whether you’re enjoying a backyard barbecue or watching fireworks light up the sky this Fourth of July, Firestone Walker Brewing Company’s 805 Beer seeks to provide the soundtrack, refreshments and patriotic spirit.

The brewer released an Independence Day commercial starring American country musician Jade Jackson, who delivers a soulful rendition of ‘This Land is Your Land,’ the iconic American anthem originally penned by Woody Guthrie in 1940. The black-and-white spot is filmed against the scenic backdrop of California’s central coast, near Firestone Walker’s brewery in Templeton.

Jackson, renowned for her west coast roots and commitment to authenticity and community, was a natural choice for the campaign. Her emotive performance captures the essence of American pride and the laid-back vibe of the central coast lifestyle.

Also noteworthy, Firestone Walker’s in-house creative team, responsible for ideating and developing the campaign, secured the rights to Guthrie’s iconic song for the occasion.

The work emphasizes the brewery’s commitment to authenticity and storytelling through its ‘805 Beer Authenticos’ program. This ongoing initiative celebrates inspiring individuals daily, such as Jackson, who was also featured in its International Women’s Day campaign alongside X-Games gold medalist Vicki Golden and MMA fighter Tabatha Ricci, among others.

In a recent interview, Nick Firestone, Firestone Walker Brewing Company’s chief executive, spoke about the significance of these initiatives.

“The [805 Beer] Authenticos program is a true partnership, an opportunity for us to go deeper telling stories and highlighting interesting, talented people from our home,” he said. “It is not transactional, but based on long-standing relationships to tell their stories from and related to our central coast lifestyle.”

The campaign is running across digital and social channels.
