When we talk about indulgent food and ardent spirit for the soul, one thinks of Craftbar – a destination designed to allow the conversation and good times rolled into one great memorable meet up with your loved ones and friends.

Three years ago, on 4th November 2016, BKC’s favourite watering hole and a gastronomical wonder Craftbar opened its gates and has been serving intoxicatingly crafty and artisanal cocktails to its patrons.

To mark this convivial occasion, Craftbar has spruced up its menu with some lip-smacking additions. Everything on the menu is a confluence of cuisine which is a fantastic blend of fusion food along with some adventurous Indian street food, like the classic Malvani Sol Kadi, Prawns and Bombay street chat – Panipuri are fused together to make Prawns Golgappa with Solkadi shots. Garlic pepper Karachi Prawns, Braised Lamb Chop, Steamed Chicken Makhanwala and Bihar’s favourite snack, Litti Chokha are just a few dishes in the menu which will literally blow your mind away!

Their signature handcrafted drinks like the Grape Effect, Negroni and the 7 Island Iced Tea made with seven different elixirs and a note of apple and cranberry juice are truly a mixology marvel.

Not only the food and drinks but the vibe too will keep you coming back for more. As you walk in this kitschy yet swanky bar, you’ll be immediately put at ease in the comfort of their upholstered furnishing and a kaleidoscopic undertones balanced with well-dimmed lights.

Sagar Chakraborty, the owner decided to add a personal touch with the bottles and the Warli art which make for an essentially alluring part of the mise-en-scène. These are hand-painted by his wife. The Warli art is inspired by the 29 states and their cultural folklore. Not only that but the tables too are hand-painted for an authentic touch.

Sagar was a part of the hospitality industry for 22 years before Craftbar was born. He started as an waiter at Copper Chimney after his Hotel Management degree and made his way up by working with industry experts like Nelson Wang and A. D. Singh.

As Sagar reminisces about his journey with Craftbar, “It’s been 3 ecstatic, albeit arduous years since we launched. Throughout our journey, living our experience, we’ve paid attention to the tiniest details – from the kitchen and crew to plate and pint – bearing in mind the broader picture of ensuring every patron is treated with the same level of hospitality that you have now come to expect out of Craftbar. To say it’s been a journey full of emotions is an understatement. Although, we only use our emotions as a catalyst to steadily chase down perfection. And I can tell you confidently, we are making rapid progress,” he concluded.

Craftbar’s vision of making the food experience a little more fanciful and outré is pretty much on the right track. With the same vision, they hope to spread more happiness, one drink at a time.
