MIT-SOG has urged the Prime Minister that the Indian Institute of Political Leadership & Governance (IIPLG), comparable with IITs & IIMs in quality, be established in all states of India as Institutions of National Importance. The proposed institutions of IIPLG ideally should be run in a collaborative structure of respective State Legislative Assemblies, Both the House of Indian Parliament – Lok Sabha & Rajya Sabha, Government of India and Private educational entities.

As a private charitable organization, MAEER’s MIT successfully started the MIT School of Government, 1st School in the country which impart the youth with knowledge of governmental and political processes, democratic values and inculcating leadership qualities with Shri. T. N. Seshan as its Founding Chairman in Pune, in 2005. In last 12 years, MIT-SOG has created significant awareness in the country by training hundreds of youth, who aspire to pursue their careers in political leadership and governance. Today, these youth hold important responsibilities across all political parties and levels.
