The legendary soft-rock band Michael Learns to Rock also popularly known as MLTR leave their fans stunned with a spectacular performance at the Dublin Square in Mumbai’s popular Phoenix Marketcity, Kurla, yesterday.

The band comprising of the the Danish trio Jascha Richter, Mikkel Lentz, and Kåre Wanscher had expressed their delight in returning to India and performing in Mumbai, especially after the amazing welcome received from all their Indian fans on their BACK ON THE ROAD worldwide tour. Earlier, as part of their tour, the band have performed in the north-eastern states of Mizoram, Assam and Manipur.

In Mumbai, Phoenix Marketcity Kurla has a reputation for hosting the most exciting Indian and international events in the city. Mayank Lalpuria, Head of Marketing Phoenix Mall (West and North) says, “Dublin Square at Phoenix Marketcity is one of the most sought-after venues in the city for performing artists and has played host to the biggest names in the music industry, comedy, festival pop ups, etc. With the added appeal of a wide range of shopping and dining options at the mall, including alfresco seating around the venue, it is the most concert-friendly indoor performance venue in the city, and everything required for a smooth event. Some of the legends who have performed at the venue include Sonu Nigam, KK, Amit Trivedi, Shaggy, Eric Clapton, and UB40,”

Fans sing along and danced to all their favourite MLTR hits such as “25 Minutes”, “That’s Why You Go Away”, “The Actor”, “Paint My Love”, “Out Of The Blue”, “Take Me To Your Heart”, “Sleeping Child”, and more!

Speaking at the press conference which was held a day prior to the event, the trio discussed what it means to stay relevant in the industry. “The songs is probably the reason why we are sitting here today “ said Kare Wanscher. “Because if music didn’t matter to people, we wouldn’t be here. The songs that we’ve picked for this tour are songs that we think people might know and also a few that we think people should know and so we put it on our set-list. So, it’s gotta be about music and reconnecting with our audience here.

Echoing his sentiments Mikkel Lentz said, “I think we are not very good at keeping in sync with trends musically… we try emotionally. But I think 25 years ago, we gave up on trying to follow the new trends. So, we basically just play songs that Jascha writes as honestly as possible. We don’t depend on new machines; we’ll just play them…like classic pop songs. We are clear that the audience love the sing along to our tracks, hence music like Paint My Love, Sleeping Child, 25 Minutes and An Actor is always a part of our concert.”

Lead Vocalist Jascha Richter says, “When we perform live now, we experience three generations at a concert, which is really amazing

It’s no secret that the band is still selling out shows because the fans just can’t get enough of their good old classics.

Since their debut album in 1991, MLTR has released numerous hit singles with global record sales of over 11 million physical albums, more than 6 million paid downloads, estimated 250 million video views on YouTube and more than one billion streams.

The seven city India tour of MLTR is organised by Derek of KCT Entertainment. The band continues on their India tour to Pune and Bangalore on the 7th and 9th of December respectively.

Post the tour, the trio are eager to join their families for Christmas holidays and then prepare for touring again next year. They also hope to get back to recording some new tracks next year.
