On November 11—12, Social Media Week Kyiv 2021 will take place. It is an international conference on social media, marketing, and communications. The theme of this year’s event is Reopening the World. Creative Industries Taking a Lead. The conference will bring together around 30 speakers from Europe, the USA, and Ukraine.

Depositphotos and Crello, the hosts of SMW Kyiv 2021, collaborated with US digital artist Huntrezz Janos (e-curatorial agency Cultural Policy) to create a visual manifesto for the event. The key element of the design is an avatar — an anthropomorphic creature that overcomes all boundaries.

The world has changed, and so has the digital world. Today, most of us live in two realities, — a physical and digital one, — and we all have our own avatars. Any boundaries that exist in the physical world can be overcome in the digital one. Social networks have become a place where everyone creates and broadcasts a certain digital image, their desired projection. The main concept of the artwork is that creative thinking helps us adapt to new realities and reimagine the world.

“Digital art is the Golden Ratio of our time. It helps find the balance between technology, creative thinking, and bringing ideas to a new level. While working on the conference program, we thought a lot about the importance of social networks in our lives, and the changes that occurred to communication and cultural codes. We wanted to create a visual reflection of these changes and show that the transformation has already taken place. Huntrezz has managed to translate this concept into her artwork. This is the first time Depositphotos has cooperated with a digital artist in this way, but we are confident that collaborations like this will become an integral part of future creative campaigns — for us and for many other brands, ” — Tati Timoshenko, Creative Director at Depositphotos.

“Work on the project lasted for about two months. With each iteration, the avatar evolved and transformed, acquiring desired features. It personifies freedom and going beyond the digital world. My idea is that a person or community outside the digital world is not static: they are constantly growing, breaking boundaries, thereby defining a new dimension”, — digital artist Huntrezz Janos (Cultural Policy).

Music for the visual manifesto was created using artificial intelligence. It was developed by Mubert using the Depositphotos audio library. The editors chose a genre dataset that fit the concept of the manifesto. Several versions of the track were generated. One of them formed the basis of the composition, which was then mixed with other sounds from the Depositphotos library.

“Our mission is very much in line with the topic of the conference. We strive to minimize the barriers that prevent people from being creative. Creative thinking allows one to rethink the world, and People are now coming up with new ideas and finding new ways to implement them. We create the tools needed for this”, — Pavel Zgordan, Sound Engineer and Music Director at Mubert.
