Business users ride to the rescue of Apple’s iPad
Business users are riding to the rescue of flagging iPad sales according to analysts with corporations and governments proving to be enthusiastic purchasers of high end iPad’s even as consumers desert the device.
This trend will be welcome news for Apple execs that have gone out of their way to entice enterprise users over to its tablet, having teamed up with IBM to launch a series of business focussed iOS apps as early as December 2014.
Apple also received an unlikely boost from Microsoft which has invested heavily in its Office software for the iPad Pro to optimise it for the high end tablet, dispelling concerns that the device is better to suited to consumption than creation.
Forrester analyst Frank Gillet confirmed: “Apple is stronger in the enterprise market with its devices than it is with consumers.”
Apple is seeking to overtake Google and Microsoft in the enterprise market having previously focussed exclusively on consumers, touting its security and multitude of touch based apps.
