Ad of the Day: El Santo wrestles Stranger Things’ Demogorgon in Flamin’ Hot Cheetos spot
Film and advertising production network Revolucion has dropped an intense campaign that randomly collides Stranger Things, Mexican luchador El Santo and orange-colored snack Flamin’ Hot Cheetos.
The legend goes that back in the 1980s El Santo made a promotional tour around the United States, but when he got to Hawkins to fight a local hero things took a sinister turn.
Until now the tapes have been kept under wraps, but thanks to Flamin’ Hot Cheetos, they have been revealed to the public for the very first time.
The spot is a joint effort between PepsiCo Mexico, Revolucion and Netflix, with post-production company Bitta Animation working on the special effects.
Across the pond in London, Netflix got fans of the hit show excited with a scavenger hunt-turned-experiential campaign to promote season four.
